Balloons Around the World
During the first week in October, 2004, hundreds of balloon sculptors will be arranging thousands of balloons into hot dogs, hats, and a variety of wonderful sculptures as part of Balloons Around the World.
Each artist will be donating an hour or more of their time for a good cause in their community. The sculptures are free of charge or exchanged for a donation to the Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit. It’s an event that allows people to both showcase a fun art as well as to give back to their communities.
On Thursday, October 7 in Westland, MI, the Michigan Twisters Group will be sharing their skills at the Westland Shopping Center in the evening from 6pm to 9pm. “We enjoy the smiles balloon twisting creates for people of all ages.”
Close to 600 balloon artists participated during 2003’s BAW – in schools, libraries, hospitals and restaurants. They also twisted and decorated in malls, on the street, and even in grocery stores…all for fun, all for free.
Balloons were inflated in close to all of the 50 states, as well as in Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, England, Australia, Argentina, and Thailand!
Again this year, the folks from BalloonHQ.com are THE Number One site on the internet for information and coordination of most everything involving balloons. It’s safe to say that Balloons Around the World would not exist without the early support of all the friends at Balloon HQ.
